📷We knocked out this customer's old tiled fire surround and installed a new concrete lintel. Our hand crafted Sandringham design in Ancaster hard white limestone was fitted along with a new flexible metal chimney liner and a Stovax County 8 wood burning stove. 👍

This is an internal twin wall chimney flue system in a new build property.
We install it at this stage so that as the building progresses the pipes can be encased in a false chimney breast and not visible as they rise through the house.

Lovely to see this large Harewood design surround in Ancaster hard white limestone going into this newly built property.
With hearth and chamber lining in the same stone it needed a suitably large and impressive stove to match: the Burley Appliances Ltd Ashdown.
The Ashdown is an 8kW wood burning stove with an impressive 85.6% efficiency.

This open fire was providing very little heat. We took it out, opened up the fireplace (revealing the original brick chamber), swept the chimney and lined the flue with a flexible metal liner. We added some slate slips around the edge of the fire surround.
Finished off with a Burley Stapleford, 5kW wood-burning stove for much improved efficiency and heat output.

**NEW STONE!** We were excited to install this Woburn surround made in our new stone - Ancaster Freestone.
Ancaster freestone is from the same local Lincolnshire quarry that we get our popular hard white and weatherbed limestones. Freestone is described as cream to pale brown/buff in colour with a compact, medium grain, predominantly oolitic containing a few shell fragments.
We installed this surround with the new Burley Stapleford, 5kW wood burning stove in a new build house in Rutland.

All of that soot was produced by an open fire. This customer is going to have a much cleaner and more efficient Burley Appliances Ltd wood burning stove installed instead.

This Burghley fireplace is now available to view in our showroom and is made from Portland stone quarried on the Isle of Portland in Dorset.
Portland stone is hugely popular around the world. Famous for it's versatility, natural colour and durability it is used in many iconic buildings including St Paul's Cathedral and Buckingham Palace.
It has a creamy/white colour which mellows to a grey/white over time and has a low/medium shell content.

HETAS - Heating and Equipment Testing and Approval Scheme is the certifying body that approves biomass and solid fuel heating appliances, fuels and services.
We are registered with them as certified, approved installers and chimney sweeps (search for our sister company: Uppingham Stoves Ltd).
This winter HETAS is launching it's 'Book a Sweep' campaign to raise awareness and reduce the instances of chimney fires.

Ancaster Weatherbed is a beautiful, local limestone which is full of character. It comes as a blue and beige mix and has many shell fossils.
